The DES-1005P incorporates D-Link Green Technology that drastically reduces energy consumption. If there is no computer connected to a port or that computer is turned off, the port will automatically enter \sleep\ mode, reducing the power used for that port without interrupting the network connection. Additionally, the switch automatically detects the length of connected Ethernet cables and adjusts its power consumption accordingly without affecting performance. This considerably reduces overall energy consumption, saving money and at the same time helping the environment without the need for micro-management.
